During the weeks of unending 100+ degree weather in Texas, Henry could be found around the house occasionally missing pants or a shirt. When sent this picture one anonymous grandmother though Henry could make for an excellent pin-up model.
No, it's cool to have blindingly white skin, even in low light levels people think I'm glowing.
A few weeks ago Erin and I had a date night so I surprised Erin with James’ Tour of the Weird and Wonderful in Dallas. Basically it was just a few places that she had never been before. I hadn’t visited most of them either. It made for a fun evening. Aunt TM and Uncle Mo watched Henry so we could enjoy our night on the town.
The parenting books tell you that one of your goals as a parent should be helping your kids discover their true passions in life. Henry’s passion is water – playing in it, drinking it, splashing it. So needless to say, he had fun on this day in the pool.
We took a little trip this weekend which included a stop by the Fort Worth Zoo. Going to the zoo in the middle of the July with a 10-month old sounded pretty scary to us so we set our expectations low. Our goal was to stay 45 minutes.
Well, we managed to stay for nearly two hours and Henry even seemed to notice two or three of the animals. It was very hot though so afterwards we were ready leave and enjoy the air conditioned car ride home.
Henry’s ear tube surgery went well. We arrived at the surgery center at 5:30 a.m., filled out some paper work and then were called back.
From when they took Henry back until we saw him was close to 10 minutes. So, it really is a quick procedure.
Henry cried while he was in the recovery room but once he got a bottle and we took him to our car he calmed down. When we got back home he was a little fussier than normal but not much. By noon he was mostly back to normal, playing and crawling around.
So far the biggest difference that we can tell is when we lay him down to change his diaper. He doesn’t seem to fuss as much as normal.
In summary, it was a quick procedure and we’re glad to have it over with. Hopefully we’ll get to avoid ear infections for a while now.
