Henry turns orange for fall

Posted on Thursday, November 26th, 2009 at 8:43 am

Uncle Chuck and AJ brought Henry a Tennessee hoodie that goes great with the outfit Samuel’s parents gave us when he was born. Go Vols!

He may have been born in Texas, but he's a Vol at heart.

Super Henry

Some friends gave us a gift card to buy clothes for Henry. When I saw this shirt, I knew it was meant for Henry.

Henry at Two Months

Posted on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 at 8:00 am

Henry recently passed the two month mark. Unfortunately, this meant his two month doctor’s visit was unavoidable. He received two shots which neither he nor his parents enjoyed.

At two months Henry has achieved the following milestones:

  • Weight: 12 lbs. 8 oz. (75th percentile)
  • Length: 24 inchesĀ  (90th percentile)
  • Rolling over from stomach to back
  • Recognizing faces
  • Holding his head up for minutes at a time
  • Imitating vowel sounds

His growth this month isn’t quite a dramatic but you can tell he’s a lot more expressive and aware of his surroundings.

Blessings from Aunt Linda

Posted on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009 at 3:20 pm

Henry met his great aunt Linda this weekend for the first time. Linda lives in Taiwan but makes it back to the states for most Thanksgivings.

One Chinese baby tradition is to hold a celebration when babies turn 100 days old. Even though it was a little early, Linda hosted a celebration for Henry that included friends and family sharing blessings for Henry.

Henry was only 61 days old for his 100 day celebration - he's so advanced.

The Playmat

Erin used her crazy Craigslist skills to score Henry a playmat at a great price. Here’s Henry enjoying it.

Out and About

Henry’s doctor recommended isolation period lapsed when he turned 6-weeks old so we headed out to the mall. I thought it would be an opportunity to teach him how a man survives shopping. Instead, he showed me a trick that I’ll have a little trouble recreating – sleeping through it while having someone push you around. I knew he was a genius.

I'm smiling for the picture, not because I'm sitting in the women's clothing section.

When Henry Met Samuel

Henry’s best friend is Samuel who was born about two weeks after Henry. We filmed their very first meeting.

Holding his head high

Henry is getting better at holding his head up. Here was an especially good example.

The Friendly Ghost

Henry had two Halloween outfits this year. On the Thursday before Halloween he attended a costume party with other newborns wearing his ghost shirt. Then on Halloween he sported a spooky shirt from Uncle Mo and Aunt Toni.

All Smiles

Lately Henry has started smiling more and more so we’ve managed to catch a few grins on camera. We think these smiles are intentional, please don’t tell us otherwise.
