This wasn’t a great season for University of Tennessee football but I still tried to do my fatherly duties of encouraging Henry to root for my favorite teams. I guess we’ll be watching the Music City Bowl too. Who knew that the University of North Carolina has football and basketball?

Sometimes we just use Henry to decorate gardens. Here he is beautifying his Granny’s.
This gnome doesn't tolerate the rain or cold well so he's pretty much an indoor gnome until spring.
While Henry didn’t do much trick-or-treating this year we did find a few occasions to get him dressed up for Halloween. He went as a Frenchman and looked magnifique. We ordered his red beret on Etsy.com and it was talking a little longer to arrive than we expected. When it finally did arrive, we figured out what took so long – it came directly from Paris!
A few months ago we headed to Starbucks to chill for a bit and Henry decided to relax a bit too. He stayed laying across my lap for at least 15 minutes. I’m glad we got a picture because he hasn’t done it since.

If he gets bigger, I think finding shoes is going to be a problem.

October in Dallas means that it’s time for the State Fair. Since Henry was too small to venture in public last year, this was his first trip to the fair. We went twice, once with Samuel and his parents and once with Erin’s family.
Henry’s favorite part was the petting zoo, though Fletcher’s Corny Dogs was a close second.

Henry turned one a few weeks ago so we threw a small birthday party. The theme was balloons which made decorating fairly easy.
We invited our family and a few friends which made for a crowded but fun house. Henry ate his first cupcake, tentatively at first and then with gusto.
Henry’s latest trick is making a gasping noise to get attention. He discovered the noise one day in the car. Erin whipped around to make sure he wasn’t in dire danger which Henry though was hilarious.
