Erin bought a few new outfits for Henry as we prepared for his first ever professional photo shoot. So naturally we had to test them out. Here’s one of the pictures.
It's getting harder and harder to catch Henry sitting still.
Henry had two Halloween outfits this year. On the Thursday before Halloween he attended a costume party with other newborns wearing his ghost shirt. Then on Halloween he sported a spooky shirt from Uncle Mo and Aunt Toni.
One of the great things about being a parent is you get to pass down important lessons and pieces of what made you the person you are. So here is a picture of Henry in the gown that I came home from the hospital in. My grandmother, Henry’s great grandmother, made it.
One of the fun parts of having a kid is dressing them in cutesy outfits. Here is Henry in his Samford outfit that AJ picked up for us. Erin and I met and got our undergraduate degrees at Samford.

Now is your chance to pick which outfit Henry will wear home from the hospital. We have two Erin approved outfits and all you have to do pick which one you like. The majority rules (in this specific instance) so the outfit with the most votes over the next week will become Henry’s coming home from the hospital outfit.
Henry is getting more and more clothing these days. His latest haul comes from a trio of generous donors. The blanket and dog themed onesies at the top left are from Steve and Donna Springer who are friends from Clarksville. The “Robot Friends” onesies are another European addition from Erin’s Dad. The Samford t-shirt and onesies were personally delivered from Birmingham by AJ (Aunt Jennifer).
As parents-to-be, Erin and I feel the weight of guiding Henry’s young impressionable mind, particularly through his wardrobe. I think the latest set will guide him on the path to graduating from Samford and then building friendly robots that provide company and comfort to orphaned puppies. I guess it could also give him an identity crisis where he thinks he’s a robotic dog named Samford… nah than could never happen.
At first glance you might think that Uncle Mo and Toni are holding their latest creations in the Baby Moden line of children’s wear. Alas though, on closer inspection the tag says Baby Boden… not Moden. Henry was so looking forward to the friends and family discount.
While visiting for my graduation, my Mom and Dad stopped by Baby Gap to pick up Henry some pants. Apparently Dad had been refering to his impending grandchild as Henry “No Pants” VanDyke.
When picking names it was important that we picked one that was not prone to nicknames. This is why it was imperative that corrective action was taken.
The aforementioned pants are brown cargo pants sized 0 – 3 months.
We bought Henry his first clothes this week. A t-shirt and hoodie with numbers made the cut to enter Henry’s fledgeling wardrobe. Erin’s mom contributed a pair of shoes and a pack of bibs later in the week. So far it appears he’ll be foregoing pants though.
