State Fair of Texas

Posted on Monday, November 1st, 2010 at 9:14 pm

October in Dallas means that it’s time for the State Fair. Since Henry was too small to venture in public last year, this was his first trip to the fair. We went twice, once with Samuel and his parents and once with Erin’s family.

Henry’s favorite part was the petting zoo, though Fletcher’s Corny Dogs was a close second.

Coloring at the fair (not that exciting unless you’re a grandparent).

Water Babies

Posted on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 at 10:51 pm

All good parents teach their children to swim, or so we’re told. So we’re getting started early. We took Henry to a class entitled, “Water Babies”. Basically it’s just supervised play time in the pool so the kids get used to playing in the pool. As usual, Henry supplied some cute photos from the experience.

Happy New Year

Posted on Friday, January 1st, 2010 at 2:49 pm

We headed over to Samuel’s house for New Year’s Eve. However, knowing that babies don’t do well late at night. We celebrated the new year with San Juan, Puerto Rico at 8 p.m. Texas time. While Samuel fell asleep in my arms around 7:30 p.m. and headed to his crib shortly after, Henry stayed awake just long enough to ring in the adjusted New Year.

Note: We found out about the Twelve Grapes new year tradition in Puerto Rico too late to try it, but maybe next year.

Hanging out with friends

Henry had a treat this weekend getting to hang out with Samuel for a bit and meeting the Conlons for the first time. The Conlons moved to St. Louis last year but we still count them among our best friends.

Moved safely out of eye poking range.

Henry turns orange for fall

Uncle Chuck and AJ brought Henry a Tennessee hoodie that goes great with the outfit Samuel’s parents gave us when he was born. Go Vols!

He may have been born in Texas, but he's a Vol at heart.

Henry’s best friend is Samuel who was born about two weeks after Henry. We filmed their very first meeting.
