Henry is proud to officially endorse the Belmont Bruins in the 2011 NCAA Tournament. While he would prefer to route for Samford or SMU, the Bruins are a strong third string. He would like to caution against going overboard as one fan, Uncle Chuck, did during the Atlantic Sun Tournament which Belmont won handily.
The Bruins were never going to get a 10 seed, maybe 12. They play Wisconsin at 6:30pm tonight in the first round.
October in Dallas means that it’s time for the State Fair. Since Henry was too small to venture in public last year, this was his first trip to the fair. We went twice, once with Samuel and his parents and once with Erin’s family.
Henry’s favorite part was the petting zoo, though Fletcher’s Corny Dogs was a close second.
Henry’s latest trick is making a gasping noise to get attention. He discovered the noise one day in the car. Erin whipped around to make sure he wasn’t in dire danger which Henry though was hilarious.
Summer time is in full swing here in Texas so we thought it was time to introduce Henry to the fun of playing in the pool. A quick trip to Target yielded an inflatable pool. Then after putting some of my hot air to good use, we were ready for the water. Initially Henry wasn’t too sure about the pool but he quickly warmed up to it and was splashing away.
At Henry’s four month doctor’s appointment, his doctor said that we could start feeding him small amounts of food. Erin had prepared our family for this momentous news a few days earlier by buying a box of rice cereal and plastic spoons.
So later that evening, we embarked on a journey that will leave our home messier place.
As you can tell, Henry wasn’t overly thrilled with this new experience but his genetics pre-dispose him eventually enjoying meal time. One important lesson we learned was to always use a bib. Apparently the people who gave us bibs at showers already knew that but we catch on pretty quick.
