Henry Rolls Over
Posted on Friday, October 30th, 2009 at 8:00 amHenry has learned to roll over. We always knew laying on his stomach wasn’t his favorite way to spend time. So we weren’t surprised that it didn’t take long for him to correct the situation.
Henry in motion

Boppy Rocker
Posted on Saturday, September 5th, 2009 at 8:00 amA few weeks ago we recieved an unexpected package on our front door. After opening it we found out that it was the Boppy Rocker from our registry. Our good friends, the Conlons, ordered it for Henry.
It’s great and the only problem, as you’ll see, was trying to put it together.
SMU Baby Shower
Posted on Monday, August 24th, 2009 at 8:00 amMy co-workers threw Erin and I a shower last week. It was great.
They took us to one of our favorite pizza restaurants, Campisis. They also decorated the tables with ballons, confetti and Hersey Kisses that all said, “It’s a boy.”
When it came time to open presents they really went overboard. I think they must have given us half the items that were on our Target registry. One of my favorites was the digital baby monitor. This is is very important because you never know which of your neighbors are listing in on your baby crying with a radio scanner. Luckily the digital versions prevent eavesdropping. I guess they’re also better at preventing interference but I think we all know which of those is most important.
It was all extremely nice. They even got Tigerman the one item he was able to sneak on the registry. I told him he needed to say thank you but as you see below, he wasn’t overly cooperative.

Henry at 30 Weeks
Posted on Monday, July 13th, 2009 at 5:35 pmAt Erin’s last doctor appointment her doctor was surprised at how much her tummy had grown since the last visit. Henry’s sonogram today confirmed that Henry is already above average. He weighs 3 pounds and 14 ounces which is two to three weeks ahead of average. If Henry decides to stay put for the full 40 weeks and grows at the normal rate of half a pound a week, he’ll be a nine pound baby.
Everything else looks perfect. Erin will start visiting the doctor every other week now, as is normal, just to make sure everything stays on track.
It’s beginning to look like a room.
Posted on Thursday, June 25th, 2009 at 12:41 pmWe finished painting Henry’s room and putting together his crib and dresser. So his room is starting to take shape. Pictures weren’t doing a great job showing the entire room, so here’s a video.
Henry Miles VanDyke or It’s a boy!
Posted on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009 at 5:23 amYesterday Erin had her 18-week ultrasound and there was definitive evidence that we are going to have a little boy in a few months. We’re also excited to announce that our baby’s name will be Henry Miles VanDyke. We picked the name because we liked it but there are a few family tie-ins here and there.
At the doctor’s office they asked us if we wanted a DVD of the ultrasound. Wary of child exploitation scams, we asked how much it would cost. They said it was free (which I think means included in their exorbitant fees) so we have a video of baby Henry to share. Fair warning: This is the grandparent edition which lasts about 10 minutes but you get the idea in the first two or three minutes. Enjoy.
